Well Singapore, what can I say? Another big city in Asia! Shopping, shopping and more shopping!! Have blown my budget, bought the most gorgeous pair of Havianas with real crystal in the flower on the front, most expensive pair of thongs ever!!!!! But so worth every penny :) Then got talked into buying a new set of hair straighteners!! Well needs must and all that!!! You can use them on wet hair so was a must as we have no hairdryer!! And they use ions to protect your hair!! Yeh whatever!!! But they are awesome!!! Now have beautiful glossy hair again as also got the conditioner which is from beverly hills and is what all the stars use ha ha!!! Ok so a few hundred quid later and my shopping experience is definitely over!!
We spent the first day at the Marina Bay area which was interesting. They have built a larger version of the London Eye there as well as a science museum that looks like a flower, reminded me of the lotus temple in India, a bit Sydney Opera House too. There was also a big hotel with a pool on the top of it which is supposed to be the highest, largest infinity pool in the world, and I think had a glass bottom!!! As well as the Olympic Walk commemorating the youth games, just lots and lots more skyscrapers everywhere!!! We then made our way to Chinatown for lunch, it seems every city in Asia has a Chinatown and a Little India as there is such a mixed culture here and many settlers from these countries across Asia. While we were there we were lucky enough to experience another lion dance to celebrate the chinese new year, as the celebrations are coming to a close now. In the evening we were also lucky enough to be here for a carnival like parade celebrating Singapore, supposed to be the biggest one of its kind in Asia and people had come far and wide from across Asia to participate.
One of the main places I wanted to visit was The Raffles Hotel, made famous for being the place where the singapore Sling was created!! We wandered around there for a while after our shopping spree which involved trying on as many nice clothes and shoes as possible just because we could!! It was nice to wear nice clothes and get dressed up normally again, whatever normal is, even if for only a few minutes, we had so much fun!!

That evening we were leaving for the airport to catch our flight to Sao Paolo via Dubai, it was going to be one hell of a journey, but as our flight was not until 2am we headed out for dinner and maybe a drink to Clarke Quay. We jumped on the metro and were soon there as it is only a couple of stops from where we are staying. Clarke Quay mainly consists of bars, clubs and restaurants with yet more shopping!! We found a little Mexican street bar and had some drinks with tacos for dinner. It probably was not my best idea to get started on the margaritas!! However made for a great night. We were soon invited over to a table full of guys on a stag do who wanted us to party and come clubbing with them as by now we were just dancing in the street and in full party mode and the drinks kept flowing, we maybe should not have partaken in the tequila shots….however we had a plane to catch, and as much fun as it was we tore ourselves away and headed to the airport, feeling rather merry and a bit worse for wear!!!

At the airport we checked in, trying as hard as we could to look totally normal and speak without slurring, job done we boarded our luxurious emirates flight and were lucky enough to have a free seat between us to stretch out on. We needed to sleep for this part of the flight as we have to stay awake for the next leg of the journey to cope with the jet lag. 7 hours later we arrive in Dubai, and bought back fond memories and made me feel homesick for Bahrain and all the good times and people I miss there. We waited 5 hours and then boarded for the long haul 14 hours to Sao paolo!!!! We will miss Asia and all the amazing things we have seen and done there, but South America is calling and we are ready for some new experiences and culture!!!
